Meet the founders: Ahmed & Salma before Hiryo
Before graduating from GUC Software Engineering, they were active leaders in student activities and led the planning & execution of major sports events.
2019
How we started our entrepreneurial journey
In uni, we formed Hakarz team & won 2nd place in Vodafone Innovation Hackathon 010 & 1st place in FIGI Hackathon by World Bank, Bill & Melinda Gates and Riseup.
2020
How Hiryo started: UOK Therapy Platform
After graduating, we wanted to bring our graduation project (UOK: Therapy Platform) to life. Upon interviewing users, we discovered an underserved segment.

4 Pivots: UOK, Qessety, Matkhafeesh, Hiryo!
We tailored our therapy services to women, especially harassment/ assault survivors. Then, they told us they need more than just post-incident support.
2021
3K+ Downloads organically in 1 week after launching!
We then pivoted our services to provide pre-, during, and post-incident support. We had 3K+ downloads in the first week, besides 100+ tv show hosts & articles.

Tailoring the app even more to the audience!
A more holistic approach to safety by tailoring the app to cater to all family members' safety needs & empowering them to stay safe & connected at all times.

We launched the 1st self-defense & personal safety store in the region with our personal alarm: Fly. It's smaller than a fist and louder than a fire alarm!
